Whale Watching & Wildlife Tours
In 1991 the Irish government declared Irish waters a whale and dolphin sanctuary – the first of its kind in Europe.
Almost one third of the world’s species of whales, dolphins and porpoises, collectively known as cetaceans, have been recorded in Irish waters.
The southwest coast of Ireland and especially Baltimore has become a hotspot for Whale watching and wildlife tours, as the gulf stream comes in and hugs our coast, bringing in nutrient rich water, plankton, whitebait, sand eels, sprat etc. Which attracts larger fish like mackerel and herrings etc.
This makes for great feeding for the larger mammals along with some of the largest mammals on our planet- the mighty Fin whale, the dramatic Humpback whale, the friendly Minke whale, the occasional Orca, along with Common Dolphin, Bottlenose Dolphin, Risso’s Dolphin and Harbour Porpoise.
In late spring and through the summer our waters become a haven for the plankton feeding Basking Shark, the second largest fish on the planet.
We have been offering whale watching and wildlife tours since we first started in 2004 making us the longest serving whale watch operator from Baltimore and one of the longest in the country.
We offer a variety of length tours to suit everyone.
